What documents do you need?

Connecticut does not require any documents to homeschool under this pathway. You can start whenever you're ready.

If withdrawing from school

Not required, but recommended to prevent truancy concerns

No specific statutory withdrawal procedure exists. Standard practice is a written letter stating the child is being withdrawn for home instruction. District may not condition withdrawal on approval of a homeschool plan, curriculum review, or any other prerequisite. If child was never enrolled in public school, no withdrawal is necessary.
